When we become Christians, God gives us new clothes, new shoes, and a new hat to wear. The clothing is very baggy leaving room to grow, the shoes too are bigger and looser than we normally wear, but the hat is far too small. Our heads have to shrink before we can wear it. 

The greater our faith and the more obedient we are to God, the more we will see his promises being fulfilled every day. They may be in the form of many small things, but sometimes they are bigger things as well. God’s affirmations can occur at any time in any place. They will always be amazing, but will become less and less surprising.
